SUBJECT: Possession of Firearms and Dangerous Weapons in

1. Purpose. To revise the FDIC policy on possession of firearms
and dangerous weapons in FDIC facilities and to advise
employees, contractors, vendors, visitors, and the public of (a)
the applicability of 18 U.S.C. § 930, a criminal statute which
prohibits individuals from possessing a firearm or other dangerous
weapons in a Federal facility, and (b) the consequences of
violating this criminal statute, which imposes fines and/or
imprisonment of up to a year.
2. Revision. FDIC Circular 1600.1, Possession of Firearms and
Dangerous Weapons in FDIC Facilities, dated November 3, 1995, is
